Picked up a Suburban.....questions about rear flip kit

I just picked up a 91 suburban. I want to static lower it, flip kit in rear, springs and spindles up front. My question is, do I need a c-notch in the rear? I cant find any kits specifically for suburbans from any of the big names. I know I can use regular c10 stuff in the front and I assume c10 flip kit will work in the rear. But will I need a c notch? I know a c10 c notch wont work. Does anybody make a bolt in c notch for a suburban??? I have a dozen square bodies and have had a ton of them but this is my first burb. Ive searched here and google with very little to go by. Ive found suburbans that have had a flip kit done so I know its possible.

Re: Picked up a Suburban.....questions about rear flip kit

It's possible fore sure. Mine has a flip kit and no notch. I have a bolt in c-10 notch for it but haven't installed it, probably gonna 4 link it next year and do that at the same time. I'd recommend doing a flip kit and at the very least, install air shocks. Just to be able to give yourself some room for travel when hauling or towing. Air shocks and a flip kit got me by for a year until I went with full air ride.

I doubt the c10 notch will work.....gonna have to look for a universal weld in one

Re: Picked up a Suburban.....questions about rear flip kit

1. look for a straight c notch, like one for 92-99 burb's ,also get thick as possible, weld in,since you can't really access top of frame for extra bolt's,maybe even put a plate on the inside of frame?
2. If you need to raise rear some, you can use stock c-10 type front hangers, since burb hangers are all-ready lower,or simple move the stock hanger down some,.75 or so.
3. pick up some shock extenders, longer shock smoother
4. Leave the 5th leaf- overload in,or go three leaves with AOL.
