Input shaft spline
Hi all. I'm looking to convert the 3 ott to the t5 5 speed swap. I found a late 80's world class camaro 5 speed, and an early 90's s10 5 speed for the tailshaft.
This is new terrain for me, so I'm really curious, is the spline amount on input shaft universal? The seller of the camaro 5spd said it was 27-28 splines. I happen to have an old 3 speed floor tranny that has 14 splines(PO was going to install that). Also, from what I know the engine is a 350 from a 75' Monte Carlo. Thanks, Mike |

Re: Input shaft spline
If "3 ott" means Saginaw 3-speed manual, it will have 27 splines, same as many GM transmissions.
Trans output shaft spline count: Automatic Transmissions Powerglide 16 spline Powerglide 27 spline Turbo 350 TH-350 27 spline 200R 27 spline 700R 27 spline 4L60 27 spline Turbo 400 TH-400 32 spline 4L80 32 spline Manual Transmissions Muncie 27 spline (M20, M21) Muncie 32 spline (M22) Borg Warner 16 spline Borg Warner T-5 27 spline Borg Warner T-56 27 spline Borg Warner T-10 27 spline Borg Warner T-10 32 spline Saginaw 27 spline See Muncie ZF 6 speed 32 spline Manual Trans input shaft spline count is typically 10 or 26. Your Saginaw is probably 10. If the T5 is 26, all you need is a new clutch disc.
