Top of Dash Paint Question
Is the area between the dash pad and the windshield on top of the dashboard supposed to be body color or matte black? I have seen references to both. My truck is ochre and I am worried about reflection in the windshield with a light color, but I also don't want to put black on it if that area wasn't originally painted that way.

Re: Top of Dash Paint Question
My '70 is black, interior was never painted. I've had trucks with that area painted body color and never had reflection issues, the most sun glare I get is from my cell on the seat

Re: Top of Dash Paint Question
My last 72 was a white with blue interior, the dash panel was a darker and matte finish blue. I swapped the colors blue exterior white interior and ended up painting it black

Re: Top of Dash Paint Question
It's painted to match the dash pad. My blue highlander has this area painted black w remaining dash blue and my CST w saddle interior has it painted a saddle color though the remaining dash is green. Flat finish. What was your original interior/dash pad color?

Re: Top of Dash Paint Question
My Jimmy is ochre with a black dash pad. Thanks for all the replies. I am still not sure what to do. Right now that area is painted gloss ochre. I wanted to nail down color choice before the windshield goes back in.

Re: Top of Dash Paint Question
If you are going w or keeping black interior and you want to keep w an OEM scheme then the top of the dash would be black to match your dash pad.

My 72 has that area painted Sandalwood to match the dash and column.
