Original Center Console
Does anyone have a picture of an original '72 console? Were there only one style, or different styles?
Thanks! |

console change
There was just one console from 1969 - 1976 with slots to hold seat belts.
From the same topic on the message board just a few days ago. I think we came to the understanding that the style changed when gm changed the seat belts in these trucks to the slimmer male, female ends and the ridged sheath to hold the male end in place. As you know the female end in 67-72 always had the ridged sheath. So in 1977 they put cup holders in the console. |

Here is a pic of my original 70 seatbelt holder console. The only thing it is missing is the chrome plate that surrounds the seatbelt holders and ashtray (It was to pitted to restore) I think it looks okay without it. Sorry for the bad pic!

I have both, and the 77-80 model with cup holders is imminently more useful!
