Uship.com , Don't be in a hurry . Wait for the price you want BUT from Oregon to Long island it ain't gonna be cheap . I would expect $1,500.00 minimum and wouldn't be surprised at $2,500.00 your talking coast to coast .I hope you got a smoking good deal on the truck .

I used a company called Ideal Motor Trans, inc. They shipped my Expedition from Atlanta to Los Angeles for $875. Had a good experience.

Re: Oregon to Long Island shipping
The cheapest thing to do is arrange a shipment to the midwest and drive it the rest of the way. rates increase to haul into the East Coast. I've done this before. Give Scott at www.rustfreeclassics.com in Indianapois a shout and see if he'll work with you on this. Just a thought. But running you new baby back home is an experience we should all experience. It's not a hobby, it's an adventure.
I can relate if you just can't swing the time. been there, done that too. But thought I'd offer a different angle. Fact is, loads and loads of product gets shipped from the west to midwest, then is distributed from there. it's been a while, but my flights out that way were a minimum cost, but I'd do it even if it worked out the same just for the experience.

Special-K is right, a lot of stuff stops hare before going else where. With the camper industry here in Indiana I have used camper totters before. They will rent a tow dolly out west and usually only charge you for the dolly and their fuel coming back. This only works if it is a rolling machine.

Re: Oregon to Long Island shipping
That’s great.
My 70 C10 is in Tempe, AZ and just about ready to get shipped to Long Island. Probably going to spend about $1500 making it happen through a broker. Seems like they control the market. |

Re: Oregon to Long Island shipping
Well , You guys have to remember that if a guy is driving a semi truck hauling your treasures, those rigs cost a lot of money to keep moving. I know , I drive my own semi truck from Alaska to minnesota or from Alaska to Nevada and boy does it cost with all the DOT fees and registrations . My rig cost me $2.75 a mile just to cover necessary expenses before I see any potential profit.

Thanks, Vic.
I’m definitely not complaining about it. Everyone deserves to earn - and I’m happy to pay it so I can get it out here safe and sound. |

Re: Oregon to Long Island shipping
If having anyone haul your vehicles , I would ask to see their cargo insurance. I know a guy who had a vehicle transported in a car trailer by a private individual. Well as fate has it, the guy hauling the car rolled the trailer and totaling out his car . Well the car was not covered and he lost replacement value of his car. The insurance companies do write a short policy to cover your vehicle while being transported . That is your best protection for your vehicle.
