1950 steering box
1950 gmc everything is new in front end using original box steering seems good but when driving the steering wheel will get off from center meaning ill be going straight but steering wheel will be turned when i stop i can straighten back to center again what is causing this in box thanks

Is it on all roads even flat highways? Or just county or side roads?
The crest of the road will cause this, Highways don't usually have a crest for water run off like county roads or side roads. low tire pressure can cause it. Tires should be with in 2 psi or each other. The box may have some play but that usually shows up as drifting left and right. |

Is it trying to go to one side or the other as Dwcr is asking or is the truck going straight but the wheel is off center?
Straight smooth road hands off the wheel what does it do?

It goes straight no drifting at all just it starts out straight with the world but as i drive it gets off center but when i stop it will center again probably nothing but just seems weird

have you tried adjusting the free play in the box ? should be able to take most of the looseness out & make it steer much better
