Did I buy the right shock mount?

Forgive my stupidity, but can anybody tell me how this works? Or did I buy the wrong thing?

Re: Did I buy the right shock mount?

What brand shock and mount do you have...what you have is a weld on shock mount..remove the bolt and bushing from the mount.figure out where the mount needs to be and weld it up...the bushing goes in the shock eye (if needed) and the bolt goes thru it and the mount,,,,.wether its wrong or not depends on what are you trying to achieve..

Re: Did I buy the right shock mount?

Looking closer at your mount it doesn't look wide enough for the shock eye to fit it..hard to tell..you've got pics of 2 different mounts it looks like...

Re: Did I buy the right shock mount?

Mongo, the pic you posted is exactly what I want to achieve. This is the top mount...i have a lower stud similar to your pic.

On my shock mount, on one side, the sleeve is welded in the mount. That won't slip inside of the sleeve in the shock, so do I drive the sleeve out of the shock, and use the mount sleeve as the only sleeve through the rubber part of the shock. Not sure if I can get the shock wrestled in there anyway. And if I do remove the shock sleeve, how does the other sleeve on the mount (floating one) stay where it should be, when it's the length it is.

Maybe this mount is top narrow/small for my application.
