Questions on Running boards for 47-53 long bed vs. short bed
Ok I'm trying to figure out how they measure for running boards. I had another thread but it was put in as a want add so it was locked so I'm changing the question. Is there a difference in the length of the running boards on a long bed compared to a short bed?
I was told that the bed length difference was behind the wheel wells but I was thinking that wasn't the case. I measured between my fenders on my 1951 3600 long bed and the length is 72" if anyone has a short bed could you check the distance for me. As always thank you in advance. |

Yep, the distance is in front of the wheels on the bed. I don't know the measurements but I KNOW that the boards are longer on a 3/4 ton.

Long bed running boards are going to be right at 9-1/4 inches longer than short bed running boards. It's too late and too dark to go out and measure right now though.

It was good meeting you at the cruise in last night. You have a really nice truck. Another option is to have these guys build you a set of running boards....http://www.smoothiefab.com/?redirect=false. They made the boards for my 35 Chevy and the quality was very good. |

The length of the running board of a 3/4 ton pickup ('51 3600) measured as shown is 71.5".

I made a ton of calls in the last few days and I have 3 places that are looking into it for me! I have one set found but the LT side is damaged and they still want 150 so I'll see what else i can find and if nothing else buy and fix it sounds like. |
