Re: any one know this truck

Almost looks like the retro Elenore Mustang grey green Ford uses. Might be a Mercedes color to, they have a bunch of off grey tones.

Re: any one know this truck

nice boosted i'm after that lowered look but drivable. what size front tire wheel are you running. I have a set of torque thrust ll 17x8s rims with 25" tall tires for the front. hoping to put the bottom of the front bumper at 8" or less but stay above 6 to keep it drivable. where did you come in at? and how is the drivability?

Re: any one know this truck

I'd say the gray one was chopped between 2-1/2 and 3-1/2 inches.

On the gray I'd start eyeballing late model Gray cars and trucks until I found just the shade I wanted.

This Cole Foster's old truck that he drove daily and everywhere for years The chop on it is just about right to keep things in proportion

Magazine side shot of the same truck with some artsy fartsy tinting.

He left the back window full size and just dropped it down. A trick that I have learned to like.

I think if you google Salinas Boys truck the info on it comes up in one of the links.

Re: any one know this truck

That might be pretty close, I was going to paint my 51 Merc Mercedes Anthracite grey and had even bought the paint before I sold the car.

Best thing is still to just start spotting gray cars and trucks looking for the exact gray you want. We did that with the red that's on my truck in the photo in the Avatar and then went back and looked at the car we found the color on at night under the lights at the car lot it was on to see how it looked at night.

Re: any one know this truck

My truck is 6" bumper height. Drives great just be careful on speed bumps and bridges. My chop is 2" on the roof. With the correct seat you will sit just fine. My truck has a 6l lq9 in it so you will need to get an autokraft pan for it. Stock pan is way to low.. Ask me how I found that out.

Re: any one know this truck

thanks for the info, sorry to hear about oil pan. i did the body and paint for a friends 66 chevelle with the ls2 in it and when he was finishing it up he was raising the front end with a floor jack to recheck everything and guess what, it slipped off the crossmemeber and right through the oil pan. and then he got to hear it from his wife as to why he was ordering another oil pan. you guys know how it goes it should be a 40,000 dollar build and 60,000 later you stop counting. As the old saying goes sometimes your the windshield sometimes your the bug!!

Re: any one know this truck

Yes that did hurt and still does as it happen last Friday... Motor is shot.. So now onto another one with an Autokraft pan this time.. While doing this I will be also adding the twin turbo setup remote mounted with a water meth kit, front mount intercooler and the a/c and heat..

Was a very hard hit as you can tell. Just look at the line of oil behind it. Even with the oil out of it I still think it looks fantastic.. Just look how boring the cars around it looks.

Re: any one know this truck

Right noe State Farm is willing to cover it under collision.. But I am not going to just let them throw a pan on that motor and see if it will work again.. I want my truck back on the road..

Re: any one know this truck

Is that what the estimate said?
The oil pan is tied to the transmission , is there any damage to the trans?

Re: any one know this truck

why is the motor shot if it was still draining oil as you rolled to a stop? did you fire it up and drive some more?
