Having some electrical issues
I had to remove my tranny a while back, and put it in the other day. Heres where my problem starts: while the tranny was being removed, there was a slight spark and wisp of smoke from the starter area. It went away, and I found no signs of damage anywhere.
Now I go to go on my test drive with the tranny back in. My headlights, interior and instrument lights all dont work. My alarm's light is constantly on like the doors are open. If I try to turn on the lights, or open the door so the interior light goes on, my electrical fuel pump dies down quite a bit [its power is tapped strait from the starter]. Also, my voltmeter is reading around 17 when its normaly at 12-13. When I turn on the lights and my fuel pump dies down, my voltmeter also drops down to 12-13 like normal. I found one pinched wire between the tranny and block and fixed it, but I still have the problem. The truck runs/drives fine, the sterio and guages work. Does anyone have any ideas?
