How to locate cab corner on '66?
I'm sure this has been discussed before, but when I did a search most of the threads which looked promising were hundreds of posts long! So I'll start a new one.
My '66 seems to be quite typical of many rusted out cab bottoms. I have a whole bunch of panels from LMC and am starting the process of healing the sick (or maybe raising the dead!) I'm at the right rear and there is nothing left for vertical orientation of the replacement cab corner. Front to rear I have pretty well, as the lower front pillar repair piece has been tacked on and the outer floor and rear pillar piece bolt together. But the corner piece seems to lack an obvious reference or location mark that I can see. How do I figure how far up or down to install it? Thanks! [IMG][/IMG] |

I would either go to the other side of the truck and measure or measure from someone elses truck that is not apart.
measure the length of the cab support, the angle of the good side, and the length from the bottom of a good side to the small seam where the rocker welds good luck. |

Thanks Leon. I'm afraid both corners are just plain gone. I'll probably have to seek measurements from the forum, as I don't know anybody in the area who has a similar truck.

What i did is i had just a little angle left so i tacked a rod there at the angle and extended it out. That helped set the corner and then i did everything in between.

Re: How to locate cab corner on '66?
Put the door back on and make sure the cab is still square and use the bottom of the door to locate the rocker panel. The align the cab corner to the rocker. You can use magnets to hold stuff in place while you get it all worked out. This will help you get the inner rocker and cab supports located as they should go in first.
