Question for griffin radiator users
Just got in a griffin radiator for my 72. I need to know if the heavy duty radiator mounts will work with it. I don't wanna purchase mounts to find out they aren't compatable.

Re: Question for griffin radiator users
I used stock 3 core mounts. Either way the rad does not fit like OE. You will find the rubber cushions need a considerable amount of grinding to have the mounts sit tight to the rad support.

Re: Question for griffin radiator users
My engine guy had a set of aluminum top mounts he modified to fit the Griffin radiator into my 71. Don't cinch it down as it will crack the radiator with any chassis flex, I found out the hard way. Mine cracked within the first thousand miles after being installed. Griffin repaired it under warranty. Now five thousand miles later I believe its cracked again. I won't buy another Griffin radiator.

Re: Question for griffin radiator users
I made a very simple cover for mine. I used black foam in the bottom of the support that is very thick. Then just cut the metal to fit the top and it works great.

Re: Question for griffin radiator users
Update. Mine is cracked again. This radiator has less than 7 thousand miles on it. DO NOT BUY an aluminum radiator that uses epoxy! Griffin radiators are not welded, they use epoxy.
