Horn Button Emblem, What Color?
I have a very low mile 1975 GMC with this steering wheel (this picture was taken from ebay) the paint is faded on the emblem. I want to paint the emblem but I want to make sure I get the correct color. Does anyone have a picture of an NOS horn button that hasn't been subjected to the sunlight of over 40 years? Or does anyone know the correct color?

Re: Horn Button Emblem, What Color?
after some help from a friend searching the internet, we found this picture also but really..... is it gold? or was it red or orange that has since faded?

Re: Horn Button Emblem, What Color?
Red.
The official name of the color (per GMC marketing) was/is "Rocket Red" (GM WA295X). I would describe the actual color as an orange/red like "Hugger Orange" or "Carousel Red". http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...highlight=ruby K

Very interesting. How many of us have tried painting it? I have some ideas for how to make it come out nice, but I'm open to suggestions
