I did. I used OEM, found them on EBay. All the rest of the door seals & vent window seals, came from Precision.
The door body seal will make the door fit tight.

I'm wondering more or less if anyone has used them from a newer vehicle like a 99 plus model GMC on our older trucks

Those seals are generally a bulk item, in that you cut to fit it. So you could try it out, I'm not sure if the way they attach is any different.
