Question on brakes for an S10 frame swap
I am very close to the end of my 1991 S10-1952 GMC Suburban project. I have done a low budget build, using the S10 frame. 4.3/700R, and complete S10 wiring harness.
My question has to do with brakes. I have put in a 2000 S10 Blazer disc brake rear end so that I have 4 wheel disc brakes. I have a disc/disc combination valve, and I am using the original rear ABS valve behind that. What do you recommend for a master cylinder/vacuum booster combination? Will the original style master cylinder/vacuum booster work? Thanks in advance, Possum

original to.... the S10? Yes. the S10 blazer? Yes again. if you have the disc front disc rear brake combination valve, about any master cylinder will work. But the S10 and Blazer master works fine. The problem will come with fittings, the S10 and Blazer master plumbed to an ABS solenoid with all kinds of line sizes and fitting sizes. I used an adapter on the S10 master to switch to a 3/16 fitting and then reflared the front lines to 3/16 with a tee, and that got rid of a lot of useless adapters. the rear brake line plugged right into the rear output of the master. This is 98-03 S10 and Blazer advice, your results may vary!
