Which Exhaust Manifolds V8?

Hey guys, I have a chevy (1969 -1971) 307ci engine I want to install in my 1959 3100 truck (currently has 235ci engine).
My question regards 2 inch exhaust manifolds ......

Question: should the exhaust manifold exit be centered and straight down or exit on an angle?

Our vendors offer both styles, but I wasn't sure if there will be interference with the steering box and/or frame. Advice?

Thanks, Tod

Re: For my exhaust question pictures

ive got the 2.5" ram horns that drop straight down. 141.00 sounds a bit expensive.
I got mine from all American auto wreckers in Vancouver wa

Ok, so the straight down exit does not interfere with stock steering? I'm not sure where the stock 283 exhaust manifold dumped out.

Re: For my exhaust question pictures

should have asked in the same thread cuz i just answered there
speedway has them for $60 each side
if you don't need the gen/alt mount order both sides right

Re: Which Exhaust Manifolds V8?

Get the Ramhorn ex. manifolds that exit straight down as was used on the 55-59 trucks & others.

Re: Which Exhaust Manifolds V8?

but... yes 2'' center drop rams horn manifolds were stock
look at the 2.5'' center drop rams horn manifolds from speedway
they are cheap at $60 each and will work in case you upgrade your motor in the future and need the 2.5'' exhaust pipe
for that matter just run the 2.5'' exhaust all the way, it looks better
