Wiper Blades, 83, what fits?
So I normally order oil filters, air filters, spark plugs, and wiper blades from Rock Auto.
Got some new "exact fit" blades for my 83 GMC, and... they don't fit. Pics show the original wiper blade, the ones I took off, and the obviously new "exact fit" Second Pic is the wiper arm. I know 100% that the wiper arms are original (we bought the truck new). What style of arm are these, and what years were they on? |

Re: Wiper Blades, 83, what fits?
I have an 83. The original blades slide over the wiper arm and snap on to the little stud on the arm. I bought some new "beam style" wiper blades that were listed as closeout from Rock Auto and they turned out to be NAPA brand blades.
They slid over the arm stud just like the original, and did not use an adapter. I don't know what the other blades are, but they probably need an adapter to fit your truck. You might look in the package to see if an adapter is somewhere loose in there. I would not want true original wiper blades. The new beam style are much better. They don't last any longer out here in HotZona, but they do clean the windshield better. I change blades about twice a year, and will probably stock up the next time I see a closeout sale at Rock Auto. |
