2001 3500 Dually Lowering ?

Anyone in here have any experience or pictures of a 2001-2002 (or 2003-2007) 3500 dually that has been lowered. I don't want to go too extreme as I still will use this to tow and haul. I want to avoid air suspension also.
Its a 2wd but this thing looks like a 4x4.
Thoughts?
Input?
Ideas ?

Go with air - you won't regret it.

Re: 2001 3500 Dually Lowering ?

when it comes to the 99-07 trucks 3/4 and 1ton I perfer DJM suspension. they make nice stuff that bolts together well and holds together. I have a 4/6 drop on my 4x4 duramax drag truck and it has held together really well and rides nice too.

how much do you tow? you can still tow with a significant drop but youll want the right helper bags to compliment the system. dont just go all air ride you need some form of spring if you tow heavy.

Spindles or drop springs up front. Shackles or shackles + hangers for the rear.
Add an AOL kit if you need more drop but want to ensure it maintains it's hauling capacity.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

several companies make lower control arms that lower the front, better than spindles. spindles take your tierod angle way out of spec and cause some weird steering when towing. the 1999+ trucks have torsion bars so they wont have coil springs so imo the best option is a lower control arm.

i have DJM lower control arms that dropped the front end 3" on my 2500HD

for the rear i did shackles and hangers, id start with shackles first though and decide how low you wanna go.

My bad..... I have a '99 3/4 ton & was thinking the suspensions were the same through '01 on the HD trucks.

Maybe it is 01, the Duramax diesel came out in 01 so that's when everything changed.

The 2500(8600 GVW) 2wd had coil springs. The 2500HD/3500(9200 GVW+) 2wd had torsion bars
