Anybody need 8.5" 10 bolt and front axle?
I just swapped a couple axles into my truck a 12 bolt locker with 3.40 gears and a front end. I have the left overs from the project which are a 10 bolt 8.5" rear end with 3.08 gears and locking. 10 bolt GM front end same gears. Pulled the cover on the 10 bolt and everything looks to be in great shape, ring gear isn't worn out or anything and the only reason for swapping was to get a little more strength and some little bit taller gears. I really have no clue what these are worth but I don't want to take bids or anything, if somebody wants to let me know about what their worth i'll decide on a price, also the axles only need a couple wheel studs and a front wheel bearing in the left front. Other than that their good. I have drums and all the brake stuff for the rear but its not in great shape, I pulled all the brand new brakes off of the 10 bolt to go in my 12 bolt thats in the truck now. So it will need rear brake but you can have the drums and all that with it.

Scott, what would you want for your 2.73 rear if you remove it? I have one in my truck and it is making alot of noise, bad bearings.

I'm located in Clemmons NC zip 27012
I'm not sure what the rear end is worth but its nice and tight and works perfectly, needs brakes and one wheel stud. I would say 100 bucks since it is a locker and works perfect, Probably has about 130k miles on it, but seems to have been maintained fairly well. I pulled the cover to check it out and everything looks great. I'd say tack on another 50 for the front but i'll split them up doesn't matter to me. |

Yep. All you need to do is swap the axles and drums to switch from 6 to 5 lug or vice versa.

I believe there are "C" clips on the inside that hold them in.

There are c clips that hold it in but you fitst need to remove the pin between the ends of the axles. the axles should switch out but the 5 lug axle might be about 1/16 of an inch longer, shouldnt make much difference if it is though.
