4inch Tuff Country Ez ride
I am looking to updating the suspension on my 1972 gmc jimmy. I am pretty sure i am going to go with the tough country ez ride springs. However, i have been reading some articles that say these springs offset the axle towards the front of the wheel opening, is this true and what causes this? Also, if any of you guys have this kit can you please post some pics of it installed on your rig?
Thanks Guys! |

Re: 4inch Tuff Country Ez ride
Here's a picture of mine with the EZ Ride 4" lift. It does move the axle forward a touch. I think they design them that way so you do not need to lengthen the drive shaft. ORD makes plates that you can use to move the axle back for about $30.00 but like i said i think that you will need to lengthen the drive shaft.

Re: 4inch Tuff Country Ez ride
Do you like how it rides with the ez ride springs? My only concern is it looks like the previous owner had a driveshaft made for the truck. It currently has about a four inch lift on it now. But its one of those things that I don't know what I have. Is there a way you could get me a dia from the center of the hub to the center of the fender opening?

Re: 4inch Tuff Country Ez ride
I think that it rides pretty good considering it is a straight axle short wheel base 4x4😄. With that said, I think a lot has to do with the quality of shocks you put on it. I have Bilstien 5100 shocks that are probably middle of the road shocks and I am happy. The distance from center of the hub to bottom center of the front wheel opening is 28 1/2". Just to be clear the springs locate rear axle forward a touch.

Re: 4inch Tuff Country Ez ride
Here are the part #'s for the ones i used. The fronts fit perfect but i had to modify the inserts on the rears to fit in the frame bolt top mount and the lower axle bracket. There may be a a rear that is a true bolt in but i was never able to find a part # for it.

Re: 4inch Tuff Country Ez ride
Here is a couple of my blazer with the Tuff Country ez ride 4" & 33" tires. I also have the ORD HD greaseable shackels up front which gives it another 1/2" so of lift.
