Gas gauge bouncing
Has anyone ran into this. I've got 90 suburban and my gas gauge bounces. When I turn off the truck, the gauge goes way past full. I don't know if it's the gauge itself or something else. Any help will be great.

Re: Gas gauge bouncing
My 83 Burb does that unless the fuel tank is full... or when she's dead empty. I've been told it is a sending unit issue and that a new one should solve the problem. Since I'm really just too lazy to pull my tank down and swap in a new one, I'm living by the rule, "If the needle is bouncing, fuel is pumping."

Re: Gas gauge bouncing
I had this when I bought my blazer and the ground wire wasn't connected. Once it was grounded properly there's no bounce. Could be a bad sending unit too. Ground should be easy. For the sending unit you'd need to drop the tank.

Re: Gas gauge bouncing
The ground for the sending unit is bolted to the chassis above the drivers side rear wheel.
