Stock height AD S10 swaps out there??
Hi 67-72 Chevy truck folks....
I am gathering parts for my next AD style truck...going to be doing a S10 frame swap...I have seen and learned a ton about them from the folks posting on here....but I was wondering if anybody has built one that was not dropped at all...my end result I am shooting for a a stock looking truck 1950's AD style truck with modern underpinnings from the S10 truck... If anybody has I would love to see how it was done to get the truck up in the air.... Thanks in advance... MikeC

Check out the build Rico F. by Skymangs. He also shows it in the s10 swap thread a bit.

Makes me think of the swap "kits". They set everything above the frame of the S10, so you don't have to modify the cab floor or the front valance metal.
$1000 seems like a lot for some metal, but to have everything cut and finished perfectly, I believe (after having done 75% of the work of a swap) that kit would be the way to go. I would think this would give you a good "Stock Height" look. And if you wanted to go down or up from there, there are tons of options for S10s. |

I have seen the commercial kits which offer the choice between stock body height or dropped. I'm too lazy to look it up but should be easy to Google.

Sounds like your dead set on the S10 swap.
After looking at this post. http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...d.php?t=717927 It got me thinking outside the box. The Ford Ranger and Sport Trac would be good candidates too, for chassis swaps. The 98-2011 Ranger uses a standard double wishbone suspension vs. the earlier twin I beam. The 01-05 Sport Trac uses the same underpinnings. The 06 and newer Sport Tracs used the IFS and IRS like the 02 and Newer Explorers, which is cool too. Rangers are available in 111, 118, and 126 wheel bases. The Sport Trac, just in the 126. The front track widths are slightly wider than that of the S10 at 58.5". The 118 and 126 wheel base is almost perfect for 3100 and 3600 trucks.
