Just Installed USA1industries dash pad

This has got to be the best aftermarket dash I have used and is for sure the closest to original. They use a vinyl over foam with a steel structure just like OEM.

Here are a couple pictures of mine installed in a 87 R10 Custom Deluxe.

I will be installing their Custom Deluxe door panels next so will update when I am done with some pictures.

Looks really nice. I will have to keep them in mind when I am ready to pull the trigger on my interior.

Is that a urethane pad? Is it flexible or backed with steel?

The correct burgundy for 84-87. Not Carmine be used in the earlier trucks. See the colors on their website.

Re: Just Installed USA1industries dash pad

Thanks for sharing, I'll have to keep them in mind while looking for a dash. I considered urethane for awhile but I've seen reviews saying they're too floppy and wavy. Does anyone else have other brand/material suggestions?

I've done the urethane from classic industries, it's junk. I did the best ever from eBay with an install video, its decent but has a plastic backing and in the Texas sun warped quickly. I haven't been able to test to the sun and heat but the fitment was better than any other. With the steel backing I'm hoping it's like an original. They have a lot of stuff on their website and the guys are very knowledgeable. Great company for the guys looking for original replacements.

Re: Just Installed USA1industries dash pad

Did the pad require any trimming to fit? Any additional screws needed on the drivers side to hold the pad down?

I got the vinyl padded version from classic industries last year. Took probably 10-15x times of install/removal for trimming and other issues before it fit well. Looks good now but took a lot of effort to get it get it fitting well, had to run an extra screw into the bezel side to hold it down, it wanted to flare out there.

Re: Just Installed USA1industries dash pad

There was no trimming needed and installed with all the factory hardware. No additional screws needed. I did need to grind down the foam a little on the backside where the ac ducts attached to the trim panel. Not sure if always necessary because my trim is also aftermarket. Was no big deal at all and cant be seen.

Hello wpotter. I would like to know if you (or anyone else reading this thread) looked into "Dashboard Restorations" or "Just Dashes" prior to finding this aftermarket dash. Thanks in advance. Joe

I have used Just Dashes for restoration projects that they do not offer replacements for (70 GTO) and they do great work. They quoted me around $800.00 to do a truck dash so I went with this at less than half the cost.

It's different than what lmc sells? I know theirs is black and has to be dyed. From their description in the catalog the dash seems to be similar construction.

Re: Just Installed USA1industries dash pad

I'm currently having my pad restored at Just Dashes. Its due back at the end of this month. I haven't used these guys before but, I saw that they had good reviews. Restoration is a 12 week wait.

I did buy a repro from a company that was supposed to make the best repro pad for our gen trucks last summer. It was absolutely terrible.... I put my old pad back on and sent it back. Good to hear that there may be a decent repro pad out there.
