Air ride reviews

I don't want to get Flagged for this so I don't know how to ask but has anybody Googled EZ Air Ride or use any of their kits? And can brief me on their quality of the product I called that company today and ask about a kit for my particular 73 he says they have a bolt on kit for the front but since the back of my vehicle has leaf springs he doesn't have a full kit that bolts on like he does for earlier model C10s but he does have a 4 Link weld on kit that can go with the front bolt on kit but there's no pictures of it on his site and I don't know if any of you guys here use his kits I hope I'm not violating any rules

Re: Air ride reviews

My apologies i stand corrected... i actually spoke to the owner yesterday of EZ Air Ride and for a 1973 up they don't have a full bolt on kit you can use.... they do have a bolt on kit for the front. But he said you would have to buy a triangulated 4 Link and rear bag brackets and have it welded in. The cost is $900 for the front air bag kit which comes with tank compressor and and manual paddle and dual needle gauge along with Dominator airbags he does sell it as a kit if you want the four link but it's about $1,400 for everything front and rear I just wanted to know about the quality of his products they seem good to go

Re: Air ride reviews

Shop prices very a lot and how low are you trying to get it ?Ride tech has a bolt in 4 link kit that will get it pretty low but not lay frame. And pbfab has a truck arm kit that will do the same pretty low but not lay frame.

Re: Air ride reviews

Look around and weight all the options see whats best for you in the long run.Weld in kit with a shop installing it vs something bolt in you could do yourself in a weekend or two depending your speed.

Re: Air ride reviews

I just finished mine with porterbuilt stuff, click the trailing arm swap link in my signature.

In my opinion though go with a cup an plate set up in the front, buy the cpp trailing arm kit, 4 dominator 2600 bags an your choice on the air management.

I have probably close to 3000 in mine an porters prices have gone up a good bit since I got my kits. They make a great product but your gonna pay and wait for it.

This is aired out....

What parts are you using? I'm sure it can be done cheaper but I really dont see how. A good portion of my cost is tied up in the rear suspension. My figure has everything in it, down to the the clamps and loom I put over the air lines. I also bought a 72 rear axle so I didnt have to spend the time locating the perches and then finding someone to weld them. I just dont see how you can bag one of these trucks without spending at least 2k. These guys that can do it dirt cheap pretty much have a fab shop in their garage and 20k worth of tools.

Not knocking anyone or how they do things, I'm just curious is all. I wanted the truck on air but didnt want/need/or have the time to do all the other work requried to have it laying on the frame. I dont know that I'll go changing it up now, but who knows what might happen in the future.

Re: Air ride reviews

If my money was right i would get this....
https://youtu.be/5AzrH6eurvs

But 10g,s for the chassis then to have everything moved over to will cost the same as the chssis that would be an easy 20gs for everything.... now f you can do the work yourself then i could be a viable option

In an emergency situation I could roll/drive it out of the road aired out. I would not drive it down the highway like that. As mentioned the air bags need a certian psi to operate properly. I've put about 100 miles on it and it rides good anywhere from 60psi front 30 rear to 75 front 45 rear. The picture below is from before i bagged it but the ride height is about 1/2" lower than this. The fender is right at the wheel lip height wise. I also have a shorter front tire now than in this picture. I need to get another one with it at ride height now I guess.

This is with it all the way up, around 100 psi front and 80ish rear, very stiff an bouncy ride here.

Thanks so you had a static drop before the air ride? upfront I have 2 inch drop spindles And 1 inch drop coil and Outback the owner of the truck that had it before me had some of the Leafs removed and it's axle over Leafs right now with shock extenders and a c-notch in the rear..... so what all of that that I already have from what you're telling me with no mods to the back or the front end that's as low as I'm going to go

Yes the before picture of mine is 2.5" drop spindles (still on it) and one coil cut from the stock springs (replaced with bags) on the front. The rear was a flip kit with no notch and shock extenders, all that has been compeltely removed and replaced and it now has a small notch.

I'm not sure I totally understand your question but from how i understand it yes your ride height on air with just cups/plates/bags in the front will be almost the same as it is now maybe 1" or so lower. The difference is once parked you can air it out even lower for the slammed look. If you want a really low ride height you need a sectioned factory crossmember, or a drop crossmember from porterbuilt, thorbeck bros, GSI, or I think choppin block has on to.

Re: Air ride reviews

If people can weld and fab stuff the price goes down,To lay frame the front end is the big problem.Stock you can lay control arms they hang lower then the frame. To lay frame takes a raised crossmember aka dropmember or the old school way pancake the crossmember or z the front half the frame. The rear any weld in 2 link or 4 link for air bags can do.Or he got lucky and got used parts or stuff someone bought and had to sell later on for less then it cost.I have seen dropmembers new in the box go up for sale sometimes,I guess the guy wanted it but never got around to it for many reason.
