Heater motor swap

Hey all,
Has anyone used a different year, make, model when replacing your old heater motor and wheel? I am not concerned with using a correct year/model in my 62 project.

Thanks in advance...

Randy

Re: Heater motor swap

Ive heard of people using motors and fans from '80s squares. Im not sure of exactly which year but apparently they have a little higher power motor and plastic fan which might help with sound.

Re: Heater motor swap

Hi,
I bought a new one from O'Reilly's cost $19.99 and came with the plastic fan. Fit perfect and has worked all winter.

Did you ask for one for a '65? I wouldn't mind getting a plastic fan in mine. A little more power wouldn't be a bad thing either.

Re: Heater motor swap

Yes, I got one for my 65 but looking at their web site the same motor covers a lot of years. It did come with a plastic fan which was good because I couldn't get the metal fan off my old motor.
