I could be wrong, but I have never seen the metal cover for tilt. All of the NOS I've seen are plastic. HO70, I still have time to get yours out today, so it will be en-route USPO in about an hour.
I now am down to 5 tilts and a few for the non tilt.

I've never seen a plastic one except on the non tilts. The tilts are metal from the factory. I have a NOS metal on in the box.

That's weird, I have 4 trucks with tilt and they are all plastic. All of these I have NOS are plastic as well.
It's amazing how much can be learned on this site.
I wonder if the metal were pre 72? All of my trucks are 72.

I have owned 10+ 72s with tilt. All were metal, and most need re-finishing over the years.
