Weatherstrip glue

What have you used to hold your door w/strips on? I've used weatherstrip adhesive with not so good results so now thinking of gorilla glue. Im stripping 20 years worth of old stuff off and painting the area where they sit. What's the best stuff to use. Squeeze bottlr or brush on?

Don't know about the year of the truck you are referring to, but on the truck I've got it had the plastic push in pins that are used in the door holes. Aside from this, 3M sells a weatherstrip adhesive that I have used that is real good. take a good cleaner to the area, put your weatherstrip material on it, tape over to help hold and the next day it will NOT come off.

Do yourself a favor and follow the link he posted above. The "Push on" style seem to be a much better option. I just pulled a " glue on " that wasn't glued anymore and put on the push type. Huge improvement for sure.
There is a thread on here somewhere and I believe you can buy a Honda door seal that will work as well.

My truck is a 65 so it uses the glue on style and I have the standard door seals. Never had any issues with them except that I cut them a touch too short. And was in kind of a hurry to get them on as it is my only vehicle. This time I will take my time and do it right

I think a glue that would work well would be the (3M?) stuff they sell at appliance places to hold on dryer drum seals.

When I got some Honda seals at the junkyard I put the almost new sponge rubber stuff aside to my collection of spare parts. I'll be going through that again and tossing it in the garbage.

Bump....the Honda seals are great....and if you find a tan interior civic, the seals look pretty good against our light fawn interior...
