What color is factory?

I really like the red valve covers on some LS engines. What is the exact color to get to copy it? You know, like Chevy orange engine paint.

What color are all the components?

Block
Heads
Valve covers
Oil pan.
Brackets
Accessories

Donor engine is a '03 5.3 LM7 with Camaro intake and pan.

Re: What color is factory?

Don't really follow your question? Only the block is painted from the factory, It's black, everything else is unpainted aluminum.

You might be used to seeing them painted, only because all of us that swap usually paint old used parts when we've got them ripped apart.

Thanks for that. I guess I may be thinking of the corvette version. What shade of red do they use? Is it available in engine paint in a rattle can?

Re: What color is factory?

The iron block LS engines were painted black. Aluminum LS blocks, heads and valve covers were natural not painted.

Re: What color is factory?

The red vette covers are a GMPP order-able part. The color according to GMPP is "Victory Red"
