Thoughts

I know that squares are starting to appreciate. But do you ever think we will get here.

Re: Thoughts

Its worth whatever somebody is willing to pay for it....but there is no way that thing is worth anywhere near 70k. Maybe 25k? If that sells for 70k I will let mine go for 40k. I got traction adders and vintage air lol oh and a short bed.

For a truck to be 70k I would like to see ALL NOS parts used no made in china lmc crap. I think the first 50k+ trucks we will see are very early 73-75 highly optioned trucks that are original and restored to 100% factory.

Re: Thoughts

from the comment section

"so thats what it costs to build a truck from scratch, each part seperately eh?"

so i guess if they bought every single nut and bolt and everything brand new using the best of the best and paid someone to put it all together you are probably pushing that much money. but the way i look at it is if i wanted something that nice i would build it myself to my specifics, my color, my engine, etc

Re: Thoughts

Was a bit unsure from the article whether the $70k was what was spent on the restoration or was the "You can drive it off today" price. Could be the owner got tired of folks asking "What would you sell it for?" and started responding $70,000, fully expecting folks to pass.

I remembered seeing that truck for sale on eBay motors a few months back. I just looked again, it's still listed. He's asking $70,000 for it. I don't know who would ever buy it for that price. I'd fully restore mine plus another before I ever spent that on it lol

Re: Thoughts

That's a pretty ridiculous price if you ask me. Like said, its worth whatever someone is willing to pay.

Wife -- "You need to sell that truck, you promised"

Husband -- "I'm trying, it's on eBay, I can't give it away"

I had a friend do that with his 60s mustang,Put a add online for a insane number and no one called for a long time. But a year later a aussie emailed him and offered him almost his asking price and he did take it.

Re: Thoughts

That is far from "restored". Lift kit, overdrive trans, aftermarket wheels/tires, engine mods...yeah, that isn't even close to restored and the only way he paid $70K to do that is if he paid someone hourly to source the parts and put it together.

Re: Thoughts

Gorgeous truck. Would love for mine to look like that. The paint is fantastic, but my truck can be touched up with a can of spray paint (which reminds me.....). Mine can be used as a truck, and not a 70k garage queen. I agree it has not been "restored", and the guy selling it has high aspirations!

Re: Thoughts

Odometer readings in the vehicle history report are really questionable.
