What's it worth
Have a customer with either an 83 or 84 short box 4x. I converted it to 8 lug about 12 years ago. Truck has a 6.2 diesel and I think it finally gave it up. Banks turbo system. Turbo 400, 241-t-case with a slip yoke eliminator. Gearing is 3.21 with a dana 44 in the front. He was hinting about selling it and getting something more affordable for him. The engine (i think) overheated and there is engine oil in the cooling system, even the heater core, but no coolant in the oil. Still starts up and runs. I have no interest in this truck, will need either the 6.2 checked out and repaired or a gas engine installed. Interior needs work..... couple of pics I'm thinking in the neighborhood of a high 3k or low 4k

Re: What's it worth
Just for comparison, I looked at this truck a couple weeks ago, could have bought it for 3700 bucks. It was totally rust free and original except for the 350 goodwrench engine in place of the 305. All the parts are there and it's darn near ready for paint.

Re: What's it worth
Humm How there oil in the heater box but not in the rad, unless it all flowed to the heater box.
The engine would have to be checked to be sure.

Re: What's it worth
The engine oil is completely through the cooling system, but no coolant in the oil system. I originally thought the oil cooler in the radiator gave way. That is why you see a radiator in the pic, had it cleaned out and pressure checked. that leaves me with a possible head gasket since the oil passages come up through them to the rocker shafts. The oil pressure split the heater core. Really weird situation

Re: What's it worth
Sorry miss read that. Most times the cylinders to check first would be 1,2,7,8
to see if there any signs overly hot or leaks, slug. Maybe a few head bolts that are close to water passages, intake near the water neck. (bolts)
