what year did chevy change...

Hello all,

Weird question alert.

I own a 89 burb and had a 1996 burb. I am a amputee and in those years i could stretch my left leg out while driving because the under dash floor area is clear of GM foo foo stuff.

I am in the hunt for a newer truck and now they have a large plastic box under the e-brake, near the floor board, that houses a wiring harness. You might not even notice it but for me, I can not articulate my ankle and it is uncomfortable to drive for any long distance.

Anyone have a idea of what year this changed?
Also, when did they lose the arm rest?
Thanks,
Chris

Go to the GM dealer to the parts counter and let them know you're looking for exploded views of the interior from 1996 to current. Let them know the difficulties you're having and I'm sure they can help you out.

To answer your question, I'm not sure when they changed the interior design.

My 91, 99 and 06 all have the armrest so it must be later than that?? Can't say I've seen the box you are referring to but I'll check mine out tomorrow.

My dad is also a right leg amputee, does the same thing. His 03 has a beauty cover over the HVAC stuff that I pulled off for him so he could have more room, it was only two bolts. My 02 also has it, so I'm guessing the 99 GMT800 bodystyle.
