Lower shift linkage for 402/400TH
These came off a 71. My 72 has the same. By chance anyone know where to get more of the retainer washers for the shift lever spring? The hole in these retainers are oblong. Classic Industries sells a replacement shift lever with one of these retainers, or similar. The original used two.
Haven't put things together, but I believe the bushing replacement per this image should work. Thank you. Edit: Just threw one of those bushings on my 72, works fine. The shaft is a pinch longer than original, so I shaved it off. Didn't do anything to the flange side. If anything, seems to be a better fit.

Take the sample to Lowes or Home Depot hardware section...
they are either 5/16 or 3/8 plain steel washers... |

Re: Lower shift linkage for 402/400TH
Thanks, I'll do that. I just realized I was looking for a washer with a rectangular hole. Helps to enter a proper description, They're oblong and come right up.
