1961 Apache Custom help
Local guy has this 61 for sale. Factory shortbed, big window, custom cab, has all the trim except front fender spears. body trim isn't in the best of shape. has a 350 that turns over but needs a transmission put in it which it comes with. Rust in the supports, inner rockers and outer rocker on the passenger side as well as fenders and inner fenders. above the windshield is real solid. clean title as well. He is asking 1850 but not sure if i want to give that much..here are some pictures, what do you guys think its worth? thanks

Re: 1961 Apache Custom help
Looks like a good project to me.
I paid more than that for my 60 long fleet custom cab and it's in far worse condition...

Re: 1961 Apache Custom help
I agree with these guys, $1850 is a pretty great price for a truck with a lot of desirable options in restorable shape.

Re: 1961 Apache Custom help
I appreciate the responses. Not a bad little project like stated but I sure wish the trim was in better shape. I think it was originally a 6!ylinder but someone put the correct v8 mounts in it from what I can tell. I also have a running 61 short box that has a shot body that I could pull the drivetrain out and out in it. Were the early 60s big windows harder to find than later ones? Just trying to see the difference in value from an early to later ones

Re: 1961 Apache Custom help
For the time being it will go in line behind a 71 longhorn I have to put a new URL tank in and then it'll run and and drive, then a 66 gmc tat I've got a 351 V6 for then it'll be this ones turn. I'll get it running and driving first off then I'll see how far I want to dig into it.

Re: 1961 Apache Custom help
Debating on putting a transmission in it and running the 350 or pulling the. 235 and four speed from my 61 parts truck and setting it in. The reason the transmission was out was because the po wanted to put a Saginaw in it and never got to it. He was looking for a hydraulic clutch bell housing or something or anothe and never found it.

Re: 1961 Apache Custom help
Gotbit home, haven really tried to mess with it to much yet. Probably the easiest pickup I've had to winch up a least! Fenders and inners haverust like always, roof and windshield area rock solid. Has some holes down by kick panel on bother sides. From supports are pretty rusty but the rears are overall pretty solid. Just needing a few more pieces of the trim to make it complete. Fender pieces and one bed piece. Sail panels and under window trim are in real nice shape. Set a 64-66 bed rail on it for a picture, kinda like it! Here's one picture of it

Re: 1961 Apache Custom help
the old man's rough, but a looker for sure! Ditch the rails, the truck has enough trim as it is. Was that a '55 Packard next to it?
