K5 rear window

I got a new rear glass for my k5 to replace the one that busted. I put the new one in, but I ended up having to drive the truck before rolling it up. Long story short, I now have a predicament.

The glass is in, but it's the way down. The cable to connect to the motor is stuck under the glass. How can I raise this window a bit to get the cable?

I can't take the bolts back out of the glass because of the rubber channel in the bottom of the gate. Tried that, the rubber piece puts them a bind

I can't pry up on the glass. Tried that with strap steel hooks that I bent to fit under the braces.

I can't smash the window with a hammer. It's raining and it took me two months find the last one.

Any ideas?

Re: K5 rear window

Can you loosen the bolts for the two side channels so the glass can move around a bit?

Can you unscrew the cable on either end and then use a drill to drive the window up?

Can you reach the bolts on the sash? Shorty ratchet wrench? Not sure what channel you're talking about. That's about the only way I can think of getting glass up.
Hmm...I have a few tailgates sitting here.
I need to go look at what you got going on.

Re: K5 rear window

Well I fished the cable out...only for the cable end to break.

The saga of the back window is getting old.
No back window when I got this truck.
I got a new one and it shattered. The window channel rubber was binding.
Got a new window and rubber, now this mess.

I keep telling my wife she's gonna find 1000 missing from the bank account and me with a soft top. As cold as it's been, I'm sick and tired of having no window back there.

Re: K5 rear window

Undo window from sash and cut some wood to prop it up til it warms up.
Done it more than once.
Power gates can be real pain in the ass.
