Running lights

Hi so I bought a 64 c10,but there is 4 running lights across the top front of the cab.of course there all rotted out,but I noticed the holes where they mount are perfectly cut out at the base, was this a factory option?Does anyone know.?not sure if I should replace or fill in,any suggestions will help.thx in advance.

Re: Running lights

My understanding, though it may be incorrect, is that the factory optioned clearance lights were available with the raised areas on the roof. Beyond that, the dealer may have installed them or the previous owner. My c30 has 5 lights, a raised pad for each and what I think is commonly called 'firemans hat" lenses. Can't seem to find replacement lenses.

Re: Running lights

If you find a replacement that is suitable, post it up here. I am going to have to replace mine as well on the 1966 C30 I am working on.

Re: Running lights

I would think the wiring may be something of a challenge.

Re: Running lights

Run your hand up the rear pillar where the filler tube passes.. You can sometimes find a rolled up clearence light wiring harness hidden there. An original installation instructions can be found in my Picasa album link.
