NOS 71/72 K/20 Lock-out Hub Knobs & Retainers

Trying to get a value on this pair of beauties. I see what complete used sets go for, haven't seen a complete NOS pair for sale in years. These are the cosmetic end of things, so I wonder just what I should figure they might be worth

I am sure they would fetch upwards of a $1000-1200+ to the right guy. Just the blue dials alone $400-500+ or more. Hang on to those Tim! you will regret ever selling something you will never have again.

x 2 - so hard to get the rings in that condition - they are usually smashed and cracked at the bolt holes due to over torque - $1500 would not shock me

Re: NOS 71/72 K/20 Lock-out Hub Knobs & Retainers

I've had to let plenty go and regret it constantly. I am a K/20 (now K2500) nut from way back when and hang tight with those specific parts. Just need my truck nice enough to wear these first. I know prices keep going up on stuff, but wanted to ask because I am really bad with moving along with all that. The price of so many things these days confounds me. My dad had a '60s Land Rover collection and I wanted no part of them because they were too rich for my blood and that's why I was the same as him only with K/20s...so practical. But time move$ on.........

Re: NOS 71/72 K/20 Lock-out Hub Knobs & Retainers

Hey Tim, I would have to agree on a price @ $1 k plus on the NOS K/20-2500 knobs and retainer rings alone, this same $ amount used to get you a pair of complete NOS hub lock out assemblies each containing 17 different p/n's. These NOS lock out parts have all but dried up and are nearly nonexistent these days. Am grateful that I've been able to hold onto some of our NOS lock out hub parts over the years, this past January we sold a pair of NOS 1/2 ton hub knob retainer chrome rings to a customer out of TX. that mentioned he had to give $600. for a pair of correct NOS blue hub knobs for his K/5 restoration. Your mentioning of your dad's Land Rover's just reminded me that we still have this OLD yet NEW set of K/20-2500 DUALMATIC selective drive hubs stored away in the collection. Talk to you later, Mel

Yep Mel, my dad's '62 109" wagon had the Dual-matics. I have a set of those, too, but used and barely a spot of blue on them. Those Dual-matics are tenpting. The guys will be turning their eyes to the era uograde parts and accessories same as the Blazer guys want Hickey parts. Not that their weren't other less know companies sller much of the same stuff, such as Desert Dynamics... which I think is cooler stuff to have. I like obscure. I took the OEMs off my truck and slapped a pair of Dualmatic knobs on when I thought I was running aluminum slots. That lasted less than 500 miles when one old BFG went KABLOOWEE! (need paint (gold) but I like them all shiny.

I'm glad I grabbed and stashed the hub and Dana44 parts when they were still available. These guys would puke if they knew what I paid for each part. I think I paid about $60 for that pair... if that. I was getting a 30% discount back then to make things even sweeter.

Re: NOS 71/72 K/20 Lock-out Hub Knobs & Retainers

Hey Jamie! What have you been up to you wild man turkey huntin' fool. Saw a pair fly across the road back into my favorite local woods this week. I seem to be managing the balance well. They just keep coming on!

I found the Dana60 cover used on Ebay. Even had a bit of a gouge that fit the always been there vibe I have going on. I found a new Dana44 one on Ebay and bought that, put it in a bucket of muriatic acid a while to dull it up. Considered bead blasting but the rear was once polished, not burnished. I never looked, but they may sell new ones for the Dana60, 14-bolt, and others. It would be cool to cast some up for HO52s. Hmmm....

Re: NOS 71/72 K/20 Lock-out Hub Knobs & Retainers

I'm lookin'!

Just a note here: I will never sell these or any other K/20 parts. I have always had at least one K/20 or K2500 and always will. No amount of money is worth not having the parts to keep my truck(s) going. That is why I bought the parts when I could when I did. If there ever was a K20 King on this site, I'll take the title. Got my first one in '82 and it's a life long thing for me.

Re: NOS 71/72 K/20 Lock-out Hub Knobs & Retainers

I sure do. I wish I could stock up on these things. I'm way over at the other end of "I'll be fine selling these and just keeping one". Waaaayyyy over, like I want all of them back now and then some!! The time is coming when I wanted the trucks for. Never bugged me to have a truck sitting. They were all there waiting for my later in life sumthin' to do. Guess I'll make bird houses.
