ORD Lift kit Springs!
I have a 72 K-5 that I am considering a shackle flip and replacing my springs with Off Road Development springs, My question is any one running their springs and is it worth it? They are pricey but I want to hear if someone has run them. I am doing a shackle flip in the rear and 2 inch springs then 6 inch up front.

Re: ORD Lift kit Springs!
I'll let you know, I went all in with ORD (it's Off Road Design, not Development), should have them in a few weeks. I've got everything else and the quality is top notch. Stupid overkill for what I'll actually use them for, but I'm looking forward to the better ride. I've been researching for years, and everywhere I looked pointed to ORD, with the only complaint being the cost, but nobody who had them ever said they didn't think it was worth the cost.

Re: ORD Lift kit Springs!
Thanks Guys,
I am going to go ahead and do all the rear stuff, Shackle flip and new springs as well as new greasable bushings, PO installed the 6 inch lift but never re geared the truck. Have to install 4.11 gears and or replace my rear end. Figured is a good time to do the suspension. Thanks for the correction on the name as my brain has been looking at their quotes but typed the wrong thing! |

I used them in the front. They are 4"and the ride is great.

Re: ORD Lift kit Springs!
Got the shackle flip installed and found out I had a 4 inch lift on the truck, Looking at just ordering the front 6 inch and leaving the truck outside as it wont fit in the garage with the extra height plus the tire size I will need to go up to! oh well hind site is 20/20!

Have you driven it yet? I have a set going into my truck with the shackle flip. Everything looks top notch so far. I’m going with 373 gearing.

Re: ORD Lift kit Springs!
Just ordered new gears for the rear, will be here this week. have the tires and axle temp installed and without shocks it is real soft, looking forward to seeing how it drives, next step will be front 6 inch lift springs then new Tires and rims, what size tires and rims should I run is the question. 37 since I went up two inches,( have 35's now) also moved the rear back an inch with the new springs to get it more centered on the wheel well.

Re: ORD Lift kit Springs!
Finally took it down the road, rides pretty good for the couple miles I drove it, as in all the mods you do there is some thing over looked seems my brake line in the rear has too small of fittings for my brake lines so I wont be driving it too far until I get that fixed.
looking forward to getting more of my body wok done so I can start driving it more. |

Re: ORD Lift kit Springs!
I’m close to getting mine in. I just had the rear ends rebuilt and finished painting them tonight. I have to chisel off the rear mount to install the shackle flip on the rear. Hopefully I can get it done this week.

Re: ORD Lift kit Springs!
Did you run into an issue with the new springs fitting the perch? I am having a heck of time getting the spring on the front perch on the rear. I got one side in but the other side gets about half way in and stops. The rear shackle went in no problem.
