1971 Chevy K10 4x4 Pickup Truck
How would a 1949 chevy 3100 body fit on a 1971 Chevy K10 4x4 Pickup Truck? Anyone here done this build?

Re: 1971 Chevy K10 4x4 Pickup Truck
yrs ago I did one on a 67 4x4...axles to wide for the body and then the body has to sit high unless you do a bunch of cutting...tires stick out to far.....didn't like it....wouldn't recommend it.....has it been done?,,,, lots of times....

Re: 1971 Chevy K10 4x4 Pickup Truck
Here's a couple of pics. One guy went for a 4x4 look, blue one. The other showed what his looked like before he sandblasted the truck and before he did any modifications. The Orange one was a guys daily driver.
If you like the look then go for it. If you want a more classic look, lower and wheels in where they are supposed to he then I wouldn't recommend it. Spending the money to get the tires in and the height factoryish, not really worth it.

Re: 1971 Chevy K10 4x4 Pickup Truck
The bottom one would look pretty decent with wheels with a lot less offset. Case of " It's a 4x4 now I have to have deep reverse wheels to put the tires way out there!" Syndrome. I Still see brand new trucks around here with super deep wheels with the tires sticking way out of the fenders when there is no reason to run that deep a wheel on that truck with that width of tire just because that is what they did with the last six 4X4 trucks they had.

Re: 1971 Chevy K10 4x4 Pickup Truck
I think top two were 75 and 77 c10 frame swaps. Guy with blue went for a 4x4 look on purpose. Next one is a guy on here, older build thread, last time he posted he had gotten some wheels that sucked the tires in and I think lowered it all around. Last one was just the ifs and rear axle swap. Kept factory frame. I did the same, mine sits like the orange one.
