How does the seat bolt into an AD?

It's been so long since I had a stock seat I don't remember. Does the seat simply bolt on top of the the mount that is welded into the cab? So if I were to section this mount lowering the top closer to the floor will the seat still simply bolt onto it?

In the second photo there are these two holes on each side of the rear of this seat mount. What are these holes for? I am thinking the gas tank straps?

Just put mine (54) back together.
Put the slide rails in first, 2 bolts in each corner, using the slots in your picture.
Leave the bolts slightly loose, mount the seat onto the studs, then gently snug the 8 rail bolts up while checking that the seat slides for and aft freely, then torque em' down. You can get to them with a 1/4" drive ratchet and a deep socket.

I'm sorry guys, what information I am after is how it looks, does it hang over much? I had forgotten about the side skirts. Outside of the side skirts does any of the seat hang over on the sides or front or inside?

I am looking to section this riser that is welded onto the floor. The cab is sectioned a few inches and the top is chopped three and a half so I need to lower the seat down and I need to know how much I can section this riser.

It looks like in those drawings that the seat track mounts to those two holes in my last photo. If that's the case I am out of luck.

I just installed my seat and I don’t think sectioning the riser will work.
The seat tracks attach to the holes you show in the second photo and there’s no good way to drop those holes down.

You may think about just making a thinner cushion out of plywood and foam

Okkkkkk crap, it looks like I have to have a whole different plan. I removed this riser from my old cab and bolted bucket seats on the floor but I really don't want to do that this time. I don't have a seat and wanted to get something done here before I get one.

I am thinking I could get the stock seat frame and not use the stock springs making pads with just foam like on a 27 T Roadster kinda thing.

That’s exactly what I was thinking, just a thin foam cushion. I know someone on here recently showed how they built a cushion with plywood and foam and it turned out really nice. Unfortunately I can’t find it

yep, that is what I am thinking, thanks for the link. But I really need to lower this, I need to get the seat frame, I will be looking.
