Master cylinder gasket question
On my 87 3/4 ton Suburban, every time I remove my master cylinder cap, the two accordion style round pieces of the gasket are pushed out and down and extend down into the fluid.
When I take the cap off I push them back into place but whenever I check again they are down. Why does it do this and is it supposed to do this?

Re: Master cylinder gasket question
They are doing their job to fill occupy space. Issue I am wondering is what causes it to always be that way. Almost sounds like you have a fluid leak in the system.

Re: Master cylinder gasket question
AS said or fluid is low in tank. Another thing it could be. you got air in the brake system. or May be shoes wore down too much and or drums wore down too much.
