Chevy and GMC trucks at Vintiques NW nats today
Jean and I slipped off and spent a couple hours at the Vintiques of Yakima NW Nationals this afternoon. This is a mix of the AD, TF and square Chevy and GMC trucks that I saw. My heel and Knee were giving me fits so I didn't do as much walking as I usually do and may have missed a couple back in the camp ground area.
The 54 1=1/2 ton is real close to what my daughter wants to do with the 51 1-1/2 ton we have out back.

A few more shots of the silver and Green AD, I found out that it is local to this area today.

Personally, don't get the two tone either. What in the heck are the "door handles?"

The Orange 53 has been coming to the even every year for over 20 years, He always parks it right in that same area and I used to park along that area most years too. It's a nice truck that never changes much but is always spiffed up nicely.

The trucks inside the Sundome were on display as products of different shops around the PNW

Well I do like 67/72 trucks and that white one is a slick one at all angles.
The little black truck belongs to a member of a group of rodders that has parked in that same area for a lot of years. The Green AD has what appears to be a vintage canopy in great shape.

Re: Chevy and GMC trucks at Vintiques NW nats today
A pair of genuine hop truck doors were in the swap meet area along with a 51 door. Not a whole lot of exciting stuff in the swap meet area for me but my shopping list is pretty short.
A couple more trucks over in the camp ground including a burb getting a bit of maintenance and a nifty red Elkie that spun my wheels a bit as that is one of my short list vehicles.

Re: Chevy and GMC trucks at Vintiques NW nats today
Ot page, well not totally OT as the engine in the rat rod roadster may have started out in an AD or a TF truck. Interesting engine with a hand made 4 carb long manifold.
Last photo in the whole batch is of a Chevelle that has belonged to my first 3 year student in high school auto shop since he was in high school. It runs a strong 454 and 4 speed and is one of the Nicest Chevelles of that year around. He is bulding a 55 Chevy Bel Air 2 door post with a big block that is going to be as sharp as all getout. My feet and legs gave out and we packed up and went to Valley Brewing for a beer and Tacos and sliders off our nieces food truck.

Re: Chevy and GMC trucks at Vintiques NW nats today
Thanks for the photos. I like the 67-72 trucks also. Next to the early thirties stuff it's probably my favorite generation. The green/white one looked great. The all white truck was very well executed with a lot of work put in. Loved the green AD with the cap!

Re: Chevy and GMC trucks at Vintiques NW nats today
Many of the local hop farms (hops as in beer) used fleets of AD trucks to harvest the hops up into the early 2000's. They have newer trucks or use tractors and special trailers now.
They liked the AD trucks because the hop vines would slide over the top of them real easily. The family that has Double R ranches has farmed in the valley since the 1890's and are long time hop farmers. http://doublerhop.com/ If you drink beer you have probably drank beer made with hops that they grew at one time or the other.
