Upper radiator hose suggestion
I have a 1970 C20 with a 396 BB in it. I just received a Vintage Air sure-fit AC system for it. I have the alternator mounted on the passenger side and the power steering on the driver’s side. I am mounting the compressor on the driver’s side also and as per their instructions, I purchased a new radiator hose that was supposed to help clear the compressor.
The part number they suggest is GM # 3986380 ( Napa 7575 ). I installed it and even cut the radiator side a bit shorter but it still doesn’t clear the compressor. Does anyone have a suggestion on another hose I could use that might have a 90 degree bent as soon as it exits the rad? I have attached a couple of pictures showing how the hose comes out currently.

I used one when I had a Big Block from a 1971 Chevelle. Part number from my local Autozone is E70724

Re: Upper radiator hose suggestion
Sometimes cross over parts aren't exact duplicates of original and other brands have to be compared. I have a 454 BBC in my '71.. Top hose is a Gates 20827.. The bend is less than 90 degrees, turns back toward the radiator somewhat.. Runs a ways then turns back toward the t-stat housing.. I don't have any pictures of the installation but the bend at the radiator neck on my Gates is much sharper and has a shorter radius than your NAPA hose..

This hose is a continental or gates. The Napa number was what was suggested by vintage air. The Napa part was 36$ this hose was 21$.

Re: Upper radiator hose suggestion
Doesn't matter who made your hose or how much it cost.. The hose in your picture looks nothing like my Gates 20827.. Mine clears the compressor -- yours doesn't..

Gates 25808 1 1/2” is a flex hose with 90 at one end. I used it with Gates 26390 1 1/2” to 1 1/4” reducer for upper hose on mt LC9.

Now I have a few more numbers to go back to a couple of parts stores with and see what happens. I could order a hose online, but I’m trying to buy as much locally as possible.

https://www.rockauto.com/en/partsearch/?partnum=20827 I can see 20607 on the hose in your pictures. Looks likes the Gates 20607. The Dayco 70724 has a nice 90. The Gates 20827 looks similar

The 2 groove press fit pulley I need I was going to order from rock auto as it was the cheapest option. I called one of the local parts stores and it was the same price, after including shipping from rockauto.

Re: Upper radiator hose suggestion
Finding a hose will be easier. I would need other brackets plus I just received the proper hose kit for the compressor.

Re: Upper radiator hose suggestion
Have you considered stopping by your local muffler shop and having a piece of pipe bent so it fits perfectly and being so close to that A/C pulley may save you problems down the road ?

Re: Upper radiator hose suggestion
With the rad that I have and the big block arrangement I’m using, if you look at one of the last pictures, you will see the rad exits almost straight into the compressor. Once I adjust it to tighten the belts it will be directly in front of it.

Re: Upper radiator hose suggestion
I have a bbc in my 68 GMC and the rad hose came with the motor whitch was out of a 1975 chevy 1 tone. It has a tight turn at the inlet hose to the rad and runs parrallel to the rad it might be what you need.

Re: Upper radiator hose suggestion
Could try this upper hose for a 87 Chevy V10 pick-up, it had A/C on driver side and alternator on passenger side. CONTINENTAL 61564

Re: Upper radiator hose suggestion
I stopped in at one of the parts stores and ordered another hose. 70724.
I checked his screen and it looked correct. Went back this morning to pick it up along with some belts. A little trimming and now there’s lots of room.
