Motor Mount Mystery

Hi everyone, I have a bit of a dilema and was hoping to reach out and see if anyone could point me in the right direction? I am currently working on putting back together my 1956 GMC truck and ran into my first snag. Im going right back to original as possible and can not for the life of me find the rubber mounts for the front motor mount. Its is a Y cradle style motor mount and it seems that every other 2 piece style mount is readily available but not this style! ANY direction would be greatly appreciated! I have the cradle but would like to replace everything else.

Re: Motor Mount Mystery

The mount for the Y- yoke is no longer available anywhere (except rarely on eBay). It actually is made up of 5 components: a long carriage bolt, tubular metal spacer, upper vulcanized cushion, lower vulcanized mount, and lock nut. The GMC part# is 2335002, Eng Frt Mounting Kit. The specific upper cushion you reference has 2 part#, either 3705444 or 3705447.
Your best bet might be finding a mount off another truck, as they were used on sixes from 228-302, including the big trucks. Good luck.

Re: Motor Mount Mystery

I could be way off, but a New Holland skid steer has a very similar front motor mount. I had to replace mine a couple years ago, and it's made the same way. I dont have the dimensions, but something you could check out. New Holland LS180 skid steer

Smile Re: Motor Mount Mystery

I promise to look into both suggestions mentioned above. This is why I'm here. To take in an ideas or places to look. If I end up using and slightly modifying a skidsteer mount and it works then by golly I'm a winner.. Thanks a lot for the suggestions.. I'll be looking into both the next few days.
