Weatherstripping above rear tailgate window
When it rains I have water coming in above the rear window on the tailgate. It’s not the weatherstripping at the window channel it’s above that where if it was a barn door Suburban where the top of the door would seal... my question is can you get that weatherstripping and how do you remove the pieces that are above the rear tailgate window?

Re: Weatherstripping above rear tailgate window
Are you talking about the window seal across the top that the window rolls up into? If so, that part can be purchased new, I replaced the one on my 1988 tailgate Suburban. To get the old one out of the channel, it will take time and effort since the original one is glued in place and will break into 100's of small pieces being its old, hard and brittle (thus the reason you are replacing it).

No there is a piece above that. There is a piece that is somehow mounted above the rear window to take the place of where the barn doors would go if it was a barn door Suburban.

Re: Weatherstripping above rear tailgate window
I remember seeing something when taking out the old window weather stripping, but can say for sure if it was mounting rivets or what for that piece.
