L33 5.3 Oil pan for '66 Stepside - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Hey yall, so am getting ready to LS swap my '66 stepside, and have confused myself with oil pans. lol so i know Holley 302-1 and 302-2 work, but well holley is expensive. So trying to find an F-Body pan that works.

Is there a certain brand, or pan that people are using, if so, is there a link to it?

Or any links to good F-body pans would be appreciated.

Is your truck lowered at all?

Mine is lowered about 4” front, spindles and springs, I have the truck pan and I have no issues with clearance. Hangs below cross member about 1.5” or so.

I just put a c6 pan on mine...it was the shallowest of the factory pans...about 4-3/4" deep...

I just did a pan swap, mild 4 inch front drop, 60/17 tires. Went with the GMPP "H3/hot rod/muscle car" pan kit. $200 shipped fast from Summit

Comes with everything needed, simple easy swap. Hangs down even with cross-member, plenty of ground clearance, clears top of cross-member with room to slide fingers underneath.
Keep in mind any bolt holes on pan that may or may not line up with your tranny bellhousing bolt holes. 1 didn't on mine, but I'm ok with that, others bolted up fine. Pics in recent post in my build thread.

Or going with an F body pan should be fine, just be sure to get all the parts - windage tray, p/u tube, seals, gasket etc.

I have '06 L33, only 86k miles

I swapped an L33 from an '05 Silverado, with BTR Stage III cam, LS6 blue beehive springs and Speed Engineering Headers. With 2.5" drop spindles and the torsion bars turned down a bit, I was more comfortable with the F-body pan also as it sits above the cross member.
