53 3100 new guy
Hi folks. I'm new to this forum. My name is Mick. I'm doing a frame off restoration on a 53 3100 I bought in So-cal in 1980 when I got out of the Navy. I drove it as my work truck for 9 years. I drove it to Indiana where I now live in 1989 and parked it. About a year ago I got it started and decided to restore it. I'm building with a lot of help a I6 292, billet crank, 4-71 blower, 3x2 bbl roch carbs, crank fired ignition, serpentine accessories, external oil pump. This is backed by Tremec TKO 600 5 speed followed with Frankland quick change rear end with Bicknell torque arm. Electric power steering, A/C power windows and Dakota VHS gauges. I'm keeping my leaf springs and straight axle with upgrades. Wilwood 12.88" disk brakes, 4 piston rear and 6 piston front nickle plated calipers. I work out of state a lot so it's a slow process. This is my first build so I will need a lot of advice. Looking forward to being a part of this forum. Thank you.

She's sitting outside the shop at home. Haven't touched the truck yet. I'll be home around thanksgiving and will get some pics before I tear her down. Thanks.
