That's one you can talk your better half into going to. Lots of shops to poke around in in the area of the show. Especially the All things Irish shop.

I knew that name sounded familiar, my wife just reminded me we went through there on a vacation once, stopped and ate. Had their specialty the "Swinging steak" what ever that is.

Re: car d'alene
hopefully it's not an upcoming event, i suspect Coeur d'Alene has already had it's first major snowstorm of the year
we spent a lot of time in sandpoint back in 1978 and would have settled there if i could have found a job we drove thru there this summer, very disappointed at the build up of the area, use to be a sleepy town

Re: car d'alene
nope, the show happens in June. But by comparison to Seattle, its still a small town. considering retiring there. I would thing we had some members in Spokane that would chime in.

Re: car d'alene
I lived there until 2005. It was always a good show and cruise. Someday, I'll go back if I ever finish one of my projects.

Re: car d'alene
It's a pretty nice area, Coeur d'Alene is a lot like Poulsbo in that there is the "old" section down close to the water that has been turned into a trendy tourist area with lots of activities going on to draw folks in and the major business areas are up closer to the highway. Lots of car folks in the area though with several enthusiast car related businesses around Post Falls.
We've been wanting to take our boat up to the lake and cruise for a few days. I have reservations in Victoria in June for the Deuce run that I am planning on taking my boat tail roadster to. The entry fee and room are already paid for. That will probably knock me out of another weekend trip in June.

Re: car d'alene
Car D Alene is a great show. I go every year. There is always a good turnout, and lots of classics represented. Its one of the better shows in the PNW. The cool thing about it, which most of the Goodguys shows dont have, is a cruise on the Friday night. They close down the streets and folks line up to see and hear the cars drive by. Then, they are out for display on the closed streets the next morning.
Great show, great cars, and like you have all mentioned, CDA is beautiful. I'd highly recommend the show. -Nick |
