L33 LS1 or ls2?

Hey Y'all, I'm confused on the L33 motor. Is it classified as an LS1 or ls2? Seems like a DB question I know but I've confused myself lol thanks.

Re: L33 LS1 or ls2?

should be an aluminum, gen IV, 5.3L engine
243 or 799 heads
it has the 24x crank reluctor during the time GM was converting...which makes it kind of an oddball. Most gen IV engines are 58x.
alum block w/ knock sensors on the sides, cam sensor in the front cover

similar in most ways to a LS2 engine, from a Trailblazer SS. except smaller bore, intake, throttle body

Re: L33 LS1 or ls2?

Just finished installing one. I think it's considered a gen III, aluminum block 5.3
