loooking for a nice am/fm radio i can install in the stock location and still use the original bezel. anyone? thx,dave

Ive got one similar to the picture attached with black knobs, Ill be sending pictures tomorrow because my truck is at the mechanic. Let me know if your interested so I could remove it from my truck

Bezel on a 73 is same as 78 correct? If its the same it will fit because im pulling it off a 78 c10

Dash bezel radio size never changed in any of the 73-87 trucks. Newer suburbans had the din radios but that’s it

Hi Dave forgot I had this am/fm stereo 8 track, haven’t tested it tho, it’s pretty decent shape.

To set the facts straight here the stereo AM-FM radio didn't appear in the pickups till 1978ish or 1979. Might have been the redesign of the front doors in 1977 that allowed the stereo speakers too. They were mono radios and the first factory stereo speakers are surface mounted speakers and color keyed grills on both front door panels near the window crank area. The 1973 -76 were absolutely just a mono radio and speaker system just as the 1971-1972 factory AM-FM radio was. And stereo 8 tracks in pickups were just 1978-1980. The new cassettes were all the rage by 1977 and the factory installed radios were slow to catch up. The 8 track radios faded away to cassette radios nearly overnight.

Thanks for the info Mark, that’s probably how this 8 track ended up in a cassette player box!
