Ls oil pan
About to install a 04 5.3 Truck LS in my 68 stepside and was told the oil pan will fit but will hang too low for a lowered truck. Anyone know if the f-body pan will work? I can tell by looking at it that it will be short enough but the lower sump part is longer and I’m not sure if it will clear the cross member. I’d like to hear from someone that has installed it on their swap before I spend $300 on it off eBay. I’ll be using dirty dingo mounts. Thanks.

Re: Ls oil pan
It will fit, but you have to put it pretty far back. A better pan is a CTSV pan or even the GM Muscle car pan.

Re: Ls oil pan
I used a c6 vett wet sump pan...it was the shallowest one I could find with my research...

Re: Ls oil pan
Where are you getting it from? Do you also need pan + matching pickup, dipstick, windage tray?
I'm probably in the same boat with my 65 C10, 3" drop spindles, 2008 5.3 LS from a Tahoe. I'm going with the adapter plates on the engine that allow you several positions. I assumed I would put it back as close to the firewall as possible to keep more room up front. |

Re: Ls oil pan
If you go CTSV pan you need the pan, pick up tube, dipstick tube and dipstick. The wind age tray is the same. If you need the part numbers let me know. I can find my receipt
